Aunjanue The. Ellis Taylor is an American actor and producer. She holds a BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis. Ellis, is an American actor and producer who has worked in theater and TV and films as well, is present across both sides of the screen. Her acting journey began with theater, and was later featured in numerous TV shows and independent as well as mainstream films. She rose to fame as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. Both of the roles she received critical acclaim and numerous nominations and awards, including an award from the Television Critics Choice Award for the best Actress. She made her professional acting debut with the character Ariel as Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. The credits on stage are Come and Gone Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production of Joe Turner. Her film career is highlighted by her roles in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. On television her regular role on ABC's drama series about police High Incident has earned her the praise of her fellow actors.
